DONOTIFY AN ADMIN IF POSSIBLE
DOQUIETLY GO INTO SPECTATE AND TAKE A DEMO
DO POST THE DEMO ON THE FORUM
DO WAIT QUIETLY AND PATIENTLY FOR AN ADMIN TO HANDLE THE SITUATION

IF YOU CANNOT REACH AN ADMIN AND THE HACKING IS BLATANT AND RUINING THE GAME AND ALL ELSE FAILSPROCEED WITH A VOTEKICK.

i believe those with res. slots have access to voteban people.. (temp ban.. maybe an hour..) so if theres one of those guys around you can always try and get them to help out :)

its because ppl think it makes them cool when they go and tell an admin.. so thats why they gotta tell everyone in the server.. idk.. guess they're trying to show off to everyone that they talk to an admin outside the game lol.. in an attempt to make themselves look better..

Just how common is hacking??
 

Perhaps it would help everybody to identify hackers if there was a list of common hacks and ways to identify them. The only hack I'm famililar with is the aimbot, but it's my understanding that VAC has an easy time picking that up. What are the other hacks and how can we tell if they're being used?

well VAC actually doesnt pick all that much up..

plus vac uses delayed banning.. where you dont get banned as soon as it detects you...which seems kinda stupid...

theres no 'easy' way to explain how to tell if someone is hacking tho.. especially if the person is 'good' at it.. like obvious cheaters are really easy to tell lol.. for example.. someone sits behind a wall with sniper rifle.. and shoots ppl across the map thru the wall without ever stepping out behind it.. thats pretty obvious

speed hackers are easy to detect too.. usually that blur you saw when some guy knifed the whole enemy team in 2 seconds lol

alot of ppl call 'no recoil' on ppl.. when usually the person is just really good at compensating the recoil of whatever weapon (which is probably one they use a real lot).. but thats kinda easy for 'me' to tell lol as i can spec the player and fire their weapon full auto myself and see if theres recoil lol

it just isnt really possible to 'explain' how to tell if someone is cheating.. it just takes patience & experience.. and even if you have all that.. you'll still likely make mistakes..

i mean shit.. i get accused of cheating all the time.. just last night i had 2 or 3 ppl spectating me lol and half the enemy team calling me a cheater.. and i usually get called a cheater only on avalanche.. which is because ive played avalanche a billion times and am good at it and know the common places ppl hide/camp/prone.. plus side-stepping door & windows seems to result in me being called a hacker lol.. but on other maps.. its rare for anyone to say anything to me lol. basically what i was trying to say with that.. is some ppl are just really good at a map and know the ins and outs of it and usually arent cheating yet because they seem 'to know where ppl are going to be' ppl feel the need to accuse them (usually after killing some noob campers that sit in the same 2 or 3 spots all game)

a good way would may be to try and get hold of some demos of know cheaters...

not sure if steambans.com makes demos public or not, probably not.. but watching demos of 'verified' cheaters might be a good way to start..

theres a couple on youtube I think, CS hacks will prolly look similar (btw ignore any fancy colours or lines, only they can see them so it wont help you)

Someone called me a cheater just the other day on Avalanche, because I started shooting in the apartments before rounding a corner. I do that a lot because it works, but they were convinced I was cheating and knew they were there. It was the first time anyone ever thought i was cheating.

yeah hackers sucks, but if you know what youre seeing and are sure you actually see a hacker from 1st person spec, then take a note of the name and steam ID (open console and type "status" minus quotes to get id) and post it as a suspected and I'm sure diamond will add him to the list of people to watch in future...:lol:

My basic philosophy is "if you kill me, you're a hacker and I hate you." It works pretty well. You should all try it.
