building a new pc...
well its definitly time for me to get a new pc.. and this time i definitly would like to build it myself..
only thing is.. theres a lot of shit i dont know.... like right now im just looking at motherboards.. and there seems to be sooo many to choose from.. and most seem to have little differences and shit that i dont really understand lol.. so basically i guess i need some help.. at least like a direction to go in lol or what to look for etc etc... i have a rough idea of what i want, in a small way lol.. core 2 duo cpu(was looking at: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor) w/ at least 2gb ram GeForce 8 series card (8600 maybe cause 8800 are quite expensive) anyway.. idk lol.. i need help :P |
Er.
Price range? What's the main function of the machine?
|
idk.. maybe like $1500
but i need new EVERYTHING just about.. including monitor and all.. and mostly for gaming (tho now i only really play dod... but id like to be able to run new games and shit too lol) |
lol well itll depend what the video card is going to be agp or pci...though getting a mother board would be better....tips: just make sure what you buy to connect to the motherboard is the right number of sockets, pins, and type....ie sdram rdram or agp pci...some mbs include abit, asus, epox, evga...motherboards.com if youw ant to see some reviews...always newegg if you are on a budget or something like newegg
|
no point at all in sticking with agp...
and id like to stay away from rdram too |
im currently looking at graphic cards at the moment(yes me)and actually know what to do(yeah i actually know):P
|
heh just start looking at mbs first and find the one you want....you don't need raid either so dont waste money on one with raid unless you know how to use it
|
I could do with a up- on graphics card...
ATIX600 sucks... and it looks like I've only got one slot (got a dell :P ) |
i bought the hp media center pc m7674n. its reall good. i just bought the tower though so it was 1100 it came with the mouse and key board (duh). then i spent 289 on a lg flatron wide screen. and with the hundred extra bucks u have like i did i got some really nice bose computer speakers but they can be use on anything really.
