on my new pc right now :D

was sooo excited when it booted 1st try without any problems..


...only thing that sucks is since buy.com is apparently the worst place to actually buy anything.. im stuck using an old 17" CRT monitor till i figure out whats going on with my new one...

the item page says 'in stock' and ships in 1-2 days... after 4 days i emailed support asking why it hadnt shipped yet.. they said there was a delay and they werent sure when it was going to ship... after 7days i emailed again.. got the response today.. and guess what.. its word for word the exact same response i got to the 1st email.. so its obvious they arent really reading and answering support emails.. seems more like they just give 'standard' responses.. So im gonna have to try and cancel the order.. Then once its cancelled ill have to order the same monitor from tigerdirect.com for $20 more (buy.com had a $20 rebate which is why i originally went with them anyway...)

ahh well.. i got assloads of shit to setup now :D

umm i really havent figured it all out exactly.. but without a new monitor yet.. i would say 1200 max

the cpu right now is about 30ºC.. havent really put it under load yet.. dod doesnt really change the temp.. and i just played Vietcong with everything maxed out (both ingame & thru rivatuner and the nvidia cp) and it went up like 2ºC tops...
gpu is about 45ºC-ish.. didnt go over 50º in Vietcong with the gpu fan at 75%

wee 3.4ghz 35ºC

i know what you said dia about how you like intel but here is something for ya, i have just messed about with a amd system and overclocked it. this is what is running.

amd athlon 4800+ x2 core speed 2.5ghz
2gig ddr2 ram unbranded (bog standard)
cheap ass asus mobo

all this cost in dollars about 200.
the cpu is now running at 2.97 ghz and has been put under 2 different stress test and passed with flying colours, beats spending 1500, if i had got a 5200+ i could get even higer. not bad eh?

forgot to mention

cpu temperature 30 degrees c
and i didnt even change the voltage

alright allright so i fuked up i made it go to 3.6 on stock voltage so it crashed. but did not burn, got it sorted took it back to 3.6 and up the voltage by1 and hey presto its fukin awesome, i got bored and underclocked it, windows crashed at 200mhz lol
