www.MyDeathSpace.com, a Web site that archives the pages of deceased MySpace members.

Behold a community spawned from twin American obsessions: Memorializing the dead and peering into strangers' lives. Anyone with Internet access can submit a death to the site, which currently lists nearly 2,700 deaths and receives more than 100,000 hits per day.

The tales are mostly those of the very young who died prematurely. Here, death roams cyberspace in all its spectral forms: senseless and indiscriminate, sometimes premeditated, often brutally graphic. It's also a place where the living -- those who knew the deceased and those who didn't -- discuss this world and the next.

There's a boy, 16, who passed out in the shower and drowned. There's a 20-year-old whose body was discovered burned to death on a hiking trail; and woman, 21, who overdosed on drugs and was found dead in a portable toilet, authorities say.

Their fates have been sealed, but their spirits remain very much alive -- frozen in time, for all the world to see. a Web site that archives the pages of deceased MySpace members.

.....too bad death is such a taboo in western culture.. everyone is always trying to avoid and ignore it.. cause its such a 'bad' thing.. but i guess thats because its one thing no one really has control over (tho its quite entertaining to see so many ppl try)

The Associated Press has written an article about MyDeathSpace.com, which has been picked up by ALL news sources effectively taking down MyDeathSpace.com. :( The massive amounts of traffic are causing the box to become completely unresponsive. :(

Creepy site. I just found someone on there that died not too long ago, from around my area. Got hit by an airborne ATV (ATV was hit by a train, which was sent flying at the girl). Weird too. Some of my friends go to that highschool she went to.

Sad site, but it really keeps you in check. These people all look normal, but hey, shit happens. Car accidents, murders, floods... it could happen to any of us.

floods. funny you should say that, yesterday the rain came down like crazy, we get flooding in ohio big time.. not rly where i live tho. id feel like an asshole if i died in a flood.
