does anyone here use powerstrip for dod? my like trial subscription ran out or something and it's hella useful when playing.

ive been using it for at least a year.

kinda grey-area stuff. is it allowed in leagues?

pfft, all you noobs and your powerstripe. all it is, is a luxery. you get use to the brightness and adjust to the magical effects of powerstripe. people who go to it, cant go back, not cause they want to, its cause they wouldnt be able to adjust. Oh dont get me wrong, it is very nice. but cmoooooooon.

dont you ppl have brightness/gamma/contrast/etc in your video card options in display settings... and/or built into your monitor...

^^^yes, but powerstrip lets you go WAY beyond that.

really.. if i set my shit like 3/4 way up on my video options control panel and on my monitor i cant see a damn thing cuase its just way to bright.. not to mention it looks like absolute shit when you start using brightness/gamma thats really high..

ya i guess it all depends on the software that came with your video card.

i cant increase mine nearly as much as powerstrip can.

to give an example, i can see someone in the double windows, prone on the box, from the allies 2nd flag/gun position.

yeah if i turn mine to what I use to run it at when i was heavy into dod.. i could see that fine.. now ive kinda got satisfied with a mix of good picture quality & colors vs brightness...

it also depends on the quality of ganja your smoking at the time. I find a good salad is the way to go.

how do you boost the gamma thru your graphics card? i'm pretty much worthless w/out powerstrip

for my nvidia card... i right click on desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced > then theres a tab for my video card, mine for example says 'GeForce 6600 GT' > a little menu slides out the side and then goto color correction..

nice video card. im stuck with a shit mobo that only supports PCI, not even pcie or AGP.

im updating my nvidia geforce mx 4000 to the FX 5500 ( i think thats it) though

i finally fixed my problem. I found an old installer for powerstrip 2.4 (the current version of powerstrip is powerstrip 3.63), which has no trial expiration date, so i'm back in business :D
