just open the damn thing lol.. otherwise theres really no way of knowing exactly what the power supply is

timmy! July 27th, 2008 05:28 PM

lol not to open it up...

really only need (or should use) one when changing hardware and stuff.. but i usually dont use one myself, as long as youre touching the metal of the case with one hand youre fine.. and even if you dont lol, you'll most likely be fine

timmy! July 28th, 2008 09:29 AM

You can look up your service tag (serial number) at support.dell.com and it can tell you what your original configuration is and it can also scan your current hardware to tell you what it is.

HAWKEYE July 28th, 2008 11:07 AM

Wow I forgot about that lol , I think I dit it one time to find out what type of buses I had well thanks but I guess I dont need to now lol:D

Should be fine without the grounding strap. Haven't used one in 15 years and only once lost a part...

boer August 13th, 2008 04:47 PM

well since theyre both 6200's, the overclocked one would be the faster of the two.. but being completely honest, since 6200 are sorta low end and old (but i understand its not easy finding PCI cards lol and anything is usually a nice step up from onboard) you very well might not even notice a difference ingame between the 2 since the speed difference really isnt all that much..

personally i prefer evga for videos cards, but i dont think it would make any difference in this case... plus what completely throws that argument out the window is the fact that the BFG one you linked has active cooling and the evga has passive.. if you plan to play any games, you should stay away from passive cooling..

my backup card (a cheapo 7300 i believe) has passive cooling and it works fine for everyday stuff but it gets real warm when playing games or doing anything that pushes it..

so if it was my decision i would get the 6200 OC

HAWKEYE August 13th, 2008 10:47 PM

Alright thanks , appreciate it

HAWKEYE August 19th, 2008 04:35 PM

diamond-optic August 19th, 2008 06:27 PM
