Help With Weird Lag

Hello I know this isn't the server's problem but I do not know where to post. Well I just bought a new computer that is designed for gaming and when I play DOD it get's weird lags every now and then where it lags for a while then it fixes it's self.I have tried virus scan (it hasn't detected anything).I've tried reinstallation and it hasn't worked.I've tried checking my internet and it's perfect.My ping never reaches over 20.and my fps is 60. What's wrong and how do I fix this?

well lets start over with the info you neglected to tell us

1 - What is your connection cable/DSL/??
2 - Is there more than one pc on the same connection?
3 - Whats the PC Specs
4 - Do a tracert to this website in a command line and post the returns.

dont be a noob.., tired of dealing with nubs and fixing their systems, get a console if you dont know how to fix a pc.

like the specs lol.. like he said.. details about your new machine... like what is it, what operating system, cpu speed, ram amount/speed, video adapter, what sound card (or if onboard what is it...) ...tho techincally any 'new' computer shouldnt have any trouble with it.. but it doesnt hurt to list specifics like speeds and brands..

....is this only with dod? does it happen on other servers?
....is there 'certain' situations where it happens (like when such and such is going on or happening in game it lags.. or is it totally random)

what antivirus you running? and depending how its setup.. it could give you a brief slowdown if it scans the exe or files being used/opened during the game

are drivers up to date? chipset, video, audio... (when i first got my new pc running, it was getting laggy sound and alot of static/scratchyness, updating my audio drivers solved this for me)

what other programs or processes are running...

right click on my computer, click manage. click on device manager and search for things dia mentioned. thats one way of finding things...

name of specific gfx card is necicary IE 7500 ... whatever..
processer (3Ghz) something...

ect.
memory can be found up ones arse
