thats not good.. if a restart fixes it then it looks at a memory issue or a leak from other software thats effecting the overall picture, increase your video memory and make sure yer swap file isnt getting too big
Do a dxdiag now, save the results and do one in a few days without a restart.. see if there is any difference with memory..
