Unplanned Upgrade and Refit.
So yesterday I leave around 3 pm and I'm walking through Pacific Mall with my bud and we're passing all the computer parts store. Now we get to talking about super builds and godlike systems of unrivaled performance, basically his dream machine. I start running the numbers and names of people through my head and I realize I could do this. So I started calling in favors.
This was my old machine I bought/built 8 months ago: Viper Mk. 2
AMD Athlon 64 3200+, Socket 939
ASUS A8N-E Motherboard
1GB DDR PC 3200 (400 MHz) mem
ATi X800 XL 256MB GDDR3
Generic white case 420W PSU
This is my new system not yet complete: Viper Mk. 7
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz/2mb cache/1066MHz FSB
Zalman 9500 LED Cooler [explanation for this to come]
MSI - 975X Platinum Power up Edition
1GB Corsair TwinX matched Pair PC-6400 DDR2 [soon will boost to 2]
ATi X800 XL 256MB GDDR3 [Soon to be replaced]
Ultra Grid Mid-tower case + 500W PSU
Soon to Come: 3 weeks
CROSSFIRE - Radeon X1950 PRO 256MB GDDR3
Core 2 Duo E6400 - OC to 3.0 GHz <-- The reason for the Zalman
Now my old system was still pretty good and hadn't given me much trouble. But I figured meh why not? It only cost me less then 650 dollars.
Now I'm gona give my old computer to my brother and my brother's computer can go to my mom. Just so it doesn't seem like I don't care about my sister I'm buying her a 300 gig hard drive.
If you thought I was bad in the past just wait till you see me with 0 slowdown. *Windows XP boots up in 55 seconds flat without over clocking*
For all you suckers with 15-25 fps.... "Eat it you poor bitches."
