I am using my old crapy computer to make posts right now. So here is what happens I turn on my computer the window with intel inside pops up and boots slower than usual. then a window that says we are sorry for your inconvenience and it has a bunch of options such as safe mode ,safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt run windows with your last known working settings , run windows normally and etc i tried all these optoions and it comes out to the same outcome(blue screen wit directions)
the blue screen says if yo have never seen this screen befroe restart your computer if this screen pops up again try the following options such as disabel or uninstall any anti virus program's , check harddrive config, run CHKDSK /F to check for hardrive corruption then it says STOP technical information: and there is a line with a bunch of numbers and letters that is all the nfo i think i can give this sucks:'(

ok you said you tried safe mode , try with no networking.. also try with a command prompt.. now i need to know word for word what the blue screen says.. when it says stop.. i need you to write down the error and the numbers.. and either PM me here or post them here..

I can figure out whats up with those errors.. if you can get to the deskop via safemode.. keep it there and ill check back later and does the old pc and the new one have a floppy drive?, if so ill make you a boot disk with the restore function activated (im assuming that your XP and your system restore is turned on)

HAWKEYE July 6th, 2007 07:41 PM

my old comp has a floppy but my new one dont and ill be back with the error crap in a sec.

HAWKEYE July 6th, 2007 07:59 PM

Well here it is "A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer . If this screen appears again follow these steps: Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities, check your hardrive configuration, and check for any updated drivers, Run CHKDSK /F to check for hardrive corruption, and then restart your computer.

well yer OS has gone south, or the NTFS file system has thrown a fit to be exact. from the sounds of it a virus or something has corrupted the Ntfs.sys file.. its fixable but Its had since you have no real computer experience, it would take an age to talk you thro it unless its that important to you and i'll charge :)

in a nutshell.. its fucked... get your xp cd out and reinstall it.. you may be lucky in that it wont format the HD and all your stuff will still be accessable..

Sorry its not better news.

diamond-optic July 7th, 2007 02:24 AM

you could always try hooking it up to the pc your using now as a slave drive and you might be able to save anything you want off it first...

HAWKEYE July 7th, 2007 01:15 PM

Well i know some people who can check this shit out and they'll try see if they can fix it. I appreciate the help you guys have given me.
