question about the garand?

it does 90 damage all the time?


why? its a main rifle just like the k98
shouldent it do full damage?

it is kinda bs.. if youve ever really seen the aftermath of shooting something with a garand.. it can be quite a devestating round..

but idk.. thats the way it is in dod lol.. has to do with the hitboxes..

tho on the server.. you will actually do 90dmg LESS often then most other servers (well unless they run my plugin)

because quite often, actually very often, when you shoot someone in the chest with the garand, the hitboxes (which tell the game where the bullet hit) of the players arms will basically take the hit.. even if your xhair is right on their chest sometimes..

off the top of my head i cant remember exactly what i did, but im pretty positive i made it so when the bullet hits the arm hitboxes.. it forces it to register as if it hit the chest.. (idk whats that like 120dmg?)

so 90dmg happens a real lot less then it would normally in dod.. tho other areas.. like the legs.. will still do 90dmg..


basically its like the arm hitboxes kinda stealing the bullet.. so to speak.. as the hitboxes can clip and overlap each other in certain animations... tho granted when a player is shooting his arms might be in front of his chest anyway, but i would think the chances of 'blocking' a .30-06 round going at like 2800ft/s with your arm wouldnt work too well..


the dod team might have not made it kill anywhere you hit (like the kar) to balance it out.. where as the kar is slower bolt action 5 round mag.. and the garand is 8 rounds semi auto.. and i find it no problem to easily get off at least 2 shots with the garand before the kar can get off 2

it used to be setup where the garand was basically always a 1 shot kill gun.. but to me it seemed overpowering...

and it also really made krissi mad when i changed it to what it is now..
..so it was worth it
