Heard the talk in school on Obama letting travelers go to cuba.. etc etc.

So I was optimistic towards this thinking any US civilian can travel to cuba/ the trade embargo would be lifted.
but no thats not the case. He is only allowing for family travel aka anyone cubans that want to visit their relatives in Cuba, and guess what they can also do? Give them money/gifts! With the US dollar they are likely to be getting allows the Cubans to buy stuff off their black market. And we still cant trade with cuba.

Now I dont know what's the reason behind keeping the embargo act on Cuba. I mean we are out of the cold war arent we? And if it's because theyre communist, why do we trade with china? is it because they provide cheap labor for some of our companies?.

I'm Talking about the US ones that go to canada then fly to cuba, plus any non American tourist. And yea.. sorry i labeled cold war as what we had with Russia, and the cuban missile crisis. I just want to know since that threat is gone why dont we let Americans travel there/why cant we trade with them? We'll be getting more out of it since we would probably be a big importer to them. As for the countries you listed above, why dont we slap trade embargoes on them and not let Americans to travel to those countries? seriously tho why not? we did it to cuba and still follow through with it, even though they dont pose a threat anymore. Plus I dont really get where you were going with mentioning them, other than saying cold war still goes on? no shit.

Well what there doing is called isolationism , which is sealing themselves off from our media or "democracey"
they dont want anything to do with it, One thing about the commies is they want control they dont want any interference especially from us, they want to keep whats theirs.
