Rifle Equality
 
:Senario:

An Axis soldier with a K43 and an Allied soldier with a M1 Garand encounter each other on the battlefeild. They both see each other, but the Axis aims and fires first. He scores a direct hit to the arm, 90 damage. The allied soldier responds slower aims and fires. He scores a direct hit to the arm, 100 damage and a kill.

This happens all the time, if you think of it this way who has more skill? They both shot the same body part. Both their rifles are semi-automatics, both their rifles utilize a large calibure round. The Axis soldier reacted first, isn't that where-in the skill lays?

As far as all other weapons are concerned, Everything is balanced out well. Except when it comes to rifles, the main-stay of both armies. On the main maps (hill/ava) it seems the allies have the advantage. They spawn with the highground and their primary rifle is superior to the K98.

The K43 was designed to close the gap in this area, its not like the M1 Carbine with its extremly fast firing ability. The K43 cycles its round slower then the M1 Garand. There really isn't a good reason as to why it should only deal an average 90 damage hit.

If the issue of everyone abandoning the K98 for a K43 we can limit the number of people using K43.

I agree that there's somewhat gap between K43 and garand.
If anyone noticed or not, I have been playing on allies side quite often testing out the guns. The K43 seems to be really losing the ground against the garand due to the fact that the damage coming out from garand is pretty much either 100 or 120 damage. I rarely saw it doing 90 damage where K43 did it most of the time. :confused: I think the gap is not much noticeable until it goes to the hands of skilled players.

wait... you all know that an arm shot w/ a garand does 90 dmg, not 100 dmg right?

cuz it happens all the time. 90 dmg shots w/ the garand. the k43 and the garand are almost exactly the same, except that you can't reload the garand mid-clip and it takes longer to reload the k43.

this is a pointless argument because your facts are wrong.

but anyway i think im gonna change it a little bit..

right now if the player has more then 90hp and they get shot anywhere BUT the head and chest.. it changes it to a chest shot...

so what im gonna do now is make it so just the arm shots & belly shots get changed to chest.. so that you can still be shot in the leg and not die...

and as always, if the player has less then 90dmg the shot is registerd normally

wait did you change the damages on the server? i was just talking about like the defaults of the game.

if you changed the damages on the cdrive server so that garands do 100 dmg to the arm and leg, then... that's not really fair is it? then the garand becomes a one shot kill gun, like the kar, except it's not bolt action. so in that case i'd suggest not changing the k43 dmg's but make the garand dmg's the default.
