Just to clarify. I'm not here to tell you how to run your server. In fact from the comments in this thread I gather you guys run a nice server that I would enjoy playing on. I'll come give it a whirl sometime.

The only reason I posted what I did is quite selfish. This game is on the out. 6 years is a terrific run for a TV show, and nearly unheard of in competitive video games. However, I have nothing new on the horizon to replace it. Every game I have tried in the ensuing six years has not even come close, and I doubt there will be another comparable game in the next six, so I will probably be playing dod for quite a while to come. unfortunately, the number of quality servers on the internet is becoming fewer each day. From its peak of over 2500 servers, dod is down to about 1200. dod is now dead in CAL too, so many of the match servers up now will disappear soon as well. Clans will disband, and the big pubs will follow.

With so few choices left, it is becoming hard to find a server to play on which I am not banned at. I am banned everywhere paranoia rules over logic and justice, which just so happens to be almost everywhere I have ever played this game. So to me it's worth a few paragraphs to try and spread around a philosophy of how to play this game that I find without equal. Call me a dod anarchy proselytizer.

Of course you are free to run your server as you wish, and I am not asking for you to change anything. I only asked for your thoughts.
